3 Euro 2024 stars Liverpool must sign

Jurgen Klopp’s departure and Arne Slot’s subsequent arrival as the club’s new manager saw Liverpool enter a new era.

Perhaps more to the relief of the incoming Slot, Klopp was kind enough to leave him with a team full of quality players in every position.

However, as with any squad, there is still room for improvement.

Here are three Euro 2024 stars Liverpool should make a move for this summer to challenge Manchester City’s ascendancy at the top of the Premier League table.

Spain fans may have feared the worst when Rodri shot off injured at half-time in the Euro 2024 final.

However, despite losing their best player for the second 45 minutes, Spain really came out and won the game. The main reason for that was the good performance of Rodri’s deputy Martin Zubimendi.

The 25-year-old showed remarkable composure after being introduced early on, completing 92% of his passes and winning all five of his goals.

Having struggled to find three points in the center of the pitch since Liverpool’s massive overhaul last summer, some quality additions are perhaps needed in the center of the park.

And with Zubimendi available for around £50m this summer, the Euro winner could be the right man for the job. The 25-year-old will give Liverpool some much-needed control at the heart of their squad – the kind of control they may have lacked since Thiago Alcantara’s injury.

Xavi Simons ticks many boxes for Arne Slot at Liverpool.

The powerful midfielder will provide the Reds with some creative guile in the attacking third and, having scored ten goals for RB Leipzig last season, a real goal threat.

The youngster is surprisingly likely to be available on loan this summer, making him a low-risk but potentially high-reward option for the Reds.

There is one thing that should be at the top of Liverpool’s shopping list this summer: a defender.

With Joel Matip leaving, Iraima Konate struggling to find form and Virgil van Dijk entering the final years of his career, the Reds are in desperate need of a new quality defender to lead the way in the future.

That defender should probably be Marc Guehi.

As well as continuing to impress for Crystal Palace at club level, Guehi took his game to the next level at Euro 2024, securing a place at Euro 2024. 90 min championship team as a result.

He could be an expensive signing, but he would undoubtedly be worth the money.
