Man United are keen to sign the Premier League star but the club have rejected £30m and want double that
Manchester United are reportedly interested in the sale of Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha, who has also been the subject of a £30million move from Bayern Munich.
The Portuguese has been a star player for Fulham in recent times and a move to a bigger club has long seemed inevitable, with Man Utd now appearing to be among his suitors, according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
See below for details as Solhekol takes to X, previously on Twitter, to explain the current situation, with Fulham asking for around £60m for the player, double what they have already rejected from Bayern, while it remains unclear. if United can make their interest stronger…
Fulham are bidding for Joao Palhinha to double the £30m bid they had Bayern Munich reject. Barcelona and Man United are also interested but Barcelona have financial problems and there is uncertainty about the management situation at United. There is no release clause in Palhinha’s contract.

Man Utd will definitely need to sort out their managerial situation before they can focus their efforts on signings like these, so that probably means they are in a bad position right now.
However, the Red Devils could do with strengthening in the middle of the park, with Palhinha making sense as an upgrade on the aging Casemiro, and disappointing loan signing Sofyan Amrabat.
Palhinha’s transfer to Bayern still looks very likely, according to Fabrizio Romano
Talking to CaughtOffside in his Daily Briefing column earlier today, Fabrizio Romano suggested that Bayern are the main favorites to complete the signing of Palhinha, and perhaps even less than what Solhekol wants above.
“Now we can say that it looks like Joao Palhinha’s deal with Bayern Munich will happen. Bayern have agreed on personal terms with Palhinha – the contract has been agreed, the salary has been agreed, and Palhinha is very happy to join Bayern,” Romano said.
“Bayern’s initial offer to Fulham was 35 million euros plus add-ons, which Fulham rejected, but early next week the clubs will talk again and an agreement is expected to be reached for around €40-45m.
“Bayern will push again, but at the moment they have an agreement with Palhinha, and he expects Fulham to help him make this transfer to Bayern possible.”
