The ever-optimistic Afridi, however, reminded Yuvraj that 40 runs on that pitch is far from a guaranteed win. Despite the game, both players acknowledged the unpredictable nature of the game and the importance of the sport. Yuvraj, who has always believed in his team, admitted that he still had hope that India could win, while Afridi, although disappointed, took the loss in stride.

Yuvraj: Sleep, why are you sad? What’s going on?

Afridi: Is it wrong that I am sad? Was this a game we (Pakistan) should have lost? When we needed to score 40 runs to win, Yuvraj told me “Sleep, congratulations! I’m leaving, I won’t watch the rest of the game”. I told him ‘Yuvi, chaalis is running bohut hain iss pitch pe. Itni jaldi mubarakbaad na de mujhe (40 runs is a lot in this field, don’t congratulate me early).

Yuvraj: I told you that Pakistan will win, but I was still confident that we (India) can win from there. Winning and losing is part of the game, what matters is that our bomb continues.
