Jacob Ference’s eyes sparkled in disbelief.
The Division III transfer from Salisbury came into the locker room before his first practice at Virginia and couldn’t believe the expectations in his locker. The warning wasn’t tied up, filled with styrofoam peanuts or some other prank. His teammates weren’t hitting on the new guy. They probably didn’t pay attention to him. Ference could see what they were waiting for in their closet.
