John Stones compares Phil Foden to a world star with a bold Euro 2024 prediction

John Stones has compared his team-mate Phil Foden to the world’s best stars such as Kylian Mbappe and believes the Manchester City star could be a key player at Euro 2024.

The Three Lions make their European Championship debut on Sunday night when they take on Serbia in their Group C opener. Gareth Southgate’s side will be desperate for international silverware, after failing miserably at this stage three years ago.

After a season in which he scored 27 goals in all competitions, City striker Foden could be the answer to all of Southgate’s problems, with Stones predicting he will make a huge impact on anyone in Germany.

Speaking to the media before England’s opening game, Stones commented: “I’m biased, I think he’s very good. First of all, the way he plays the game, he plays like he’s on the park. I feel like he’s brought a lot to the park. His game. Goals, maturity, situational awareness, pressure. home.
