T20 Blast 2024 – Marnus Labuschagne’s incredible catch is one for the ages

Marnus Labuschagne pulled off a surprise performance for Glamorgan against Gloucestershire in the T20 Blast on Thursday.

Running at length, he raced to his right and dived full length, diving down to catch Ben Charlesworth’s drive from legspinner Mason Crane.

Labuschagne also couldn’t believe that he had caught it and he ran happily with his teammates trying to catch him.

The match itself turned into a thriller as Gloucestershire’s Josh Shaw hit the last ball for a six to clinch victory.

Back in Australia, Labuschagne’s moment brought back memories that are part of cricket legends: Adam Dale’s incredible catch in the deep of a one-dayer against New South Wales at the Gabba in 1997.

“I miss diving, and I still miss the stick [of the ball],” Dale recalled cricket.com.au in the year of 25 years he caught fish. “It was a good time, but I think I was out of position.”

Labuschagne is known as an excellent fielder and has produced run outs in both red and white ball cricket.

Earlier this week it was announced that he will captain Queensland next season, taking over from Usman Khawaja.
