Fixtures, predictions and top players

The United States Men’s National Team has a chance to win the Copa America 2024 at home with their talented team over the years.

The USMNT has only appeared in four previous Copa America tournaments, while the Stars and Stripes have never made it past the semifinals. Gregg Berhalter’s men are looking to emulate their CONCACAF Nations League triumph this summer and become just the second non-South American side to make the Copa America final. Fortunately for the Stars and Stripes, they will have thousands of fans across the United States cheering them on in person.

Here it is 90 min USMNT guide to Copa America 2024.

Gregg Berhalter has named his final 26-man squad for Copa America 2024, with only the attacking midfielder, Timothy Tillman.

The USMNT’s depth at forward is a significant change from their previous roster, including their 2022 World Cup squad. Berhalter now has a choice Haji Wright, Folarin Balogun (probable starter), and Ricardo Pepi to play in Christian Pulisic again Tim Weah.

Josh Sargent, another option up top, remains an injury problem for the USMNT. The striker did not take part in international friendlies after injuring his ankle in May. Although the Norwich City player made the final roster, he could still be sent home and replaced before the USA opener if he is not fit to take part.

Sergino Dest, the USMNT’s regular right back, tore his ACL in April and will miss the tournament. Instead, Joe Scally he will start in his place.

The USA will face Bolivia in their first game of Copa America 2024. Although the USMNT suffered a humiliating 5-1 loss against Colombia on June 8, they bounced back with a 1-1 draw against Brazil. If the Stars and Stripes carry that momentum into this tournament, they should easily beat Bolivia.

Just four days later, the USA would equal Panama. The USMNT has a more talented starting XI than their opponents, but that didn’t stop Panama from defeating the USA in the CONCACAF Gold Cup semi-finals one year ago.

The USA finishes its Group Stage matches against Uruguay, its toughest competition in Group C. If one of the teams exits the game with three points, the winning team may take first place in the group.

Opponents likely to knock out the USMNT

If the USMNT wins Group C, they will face the runners-up in Group D (either Brazil or Colombia). If the Stars and Stripes finish second in the group, they will face the winners of Group D (again, Brazil or Colombia).

Either way, the USA will have a big challenge in the quarterfinals of Copa America 2024. Brazil undoubtedly has a very talented squad, and Colombia just scored five goals against the USA earlier in the month.

The good news is that the USMNT has already played both sides before the tournament, and will have a better sense of their opponents’ tactics going into the game.

Gio Reyna

The USA is on the way Christian Pulisic go. When the 25-year-old plays at his best, it’s almost impossible for the USMNT not to leave the score sheet.

Gio Reyna and this tournament has a lot to prove. After a limited performance at the 2022 World Cup, Copa America 2024 is the midfielder’s first real chance to produce at one of the biggest stages in soccer. When Reyna took the ball forward and combined with Pulisic once Tim Weahhe is probably the most creative player on the field.

Joe Scally he is another player to bring in this summer if the USMNT wants to do well in the Copa America. The right-back will be tasked with keeping the best players in the world, such as Brazil’s Vinicius Jr.

The USMNT has the potential to make an impressive run at Copa America 2024, but it’s hard to see them reaching the finals. They are on the tough side of the bracket, and have hurdle after hurdle to overcome if they want to advance to Hard Rock Stadium on July 14.

Based on their recent performance, it sounds like USA’s highest ceiling is a game for third place. If they go out and don’t do well, they probably won’t make it to the quarter finals.
