Fabrizio Romano says Erik ten Hag is about to sign a Man United contract
Erik ten Hag is very close to signing a new deal at Man United despite the Dutch coach not doing well at Old Trafford this season.
The Manchester club finished eighth in the Premier League, failed to defend their Carabao Cup title, and were knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage – finishing bottom of their group.
The biggest concern was that Ten Hag couldn’t turn things around all season and that doesn’t bode well for the 2024/25 campaign.
However, winning the FA Cup seems to have saved the 54-year-old as Man United fans united with their manager after the Wembley win. This has led the Premier League giants to hold on to their current manager, but will that be a decision the Red Devils regret?
The club’s owners will also offer the Dutch coach a new contract, possibly as a sign to show their boss how much they trust him, while also trying to remove his final say on new players.
That contract could be signed this week as negotiations enter the final stages.
