A tight schedule forces a unique situation

Unlike the first semi-final, this match does not have an end date due to the tight schedule before the final in Barbados. The ICC has implemented certain rules to ensure a timely conclusion.

“Avoid consecutive team games,” an ICC spokesperson said, “The overs will start to be reduced at 2:40 pm local time (about 250 minutes after the 10:30 am start).

This creates a situation where a full 20 over match can start at 2:40 pm (12:10 am IST), with possible interruptions later that could lead to no result.
