Miggy Almiron’s interview club

It looks like Newcastle United are aiming to do more of their transfer business at the start of this summer’s window.

With Financial Fair Play in mind, the North East giants will have more material in the market if they can offload players who may now be considered surplus to requirements.

Both Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh have recently left the club, and it seems Eddie Howe isn’t quite finished with Newcastle’s exit business just yet.

According to Sky Sports, the Magpies are in talks with the Saudi Pro League club to sign Miguel Almiron.

Miguel Almiron is about to leave for Newcastle

Now 30 years old, the Paraguayan international can no longer be considered first choice at Newcastle when everyone else is fit.

While that’s to be expected when your club is trying to build a future that obviously includes bringing in young players, it still might have hit Almiron hard.

Newcastle’s Miguel Almiron could be moving to the Saudi Pro League

After all, he has been a part of the Magpies’ success for a long time, and was the starter on that famous night against Paris Saint-Germain last season.

His experience in and around this area would be useful for Newcastle, although he will only be used in the balance and early stages, his position could easily be filled by another, smaller striker.

It seems clear that the Saudi Public Investment Fund is preparing to do wonders in the market where possible.

Of course, if the club wants to return to the top table of domestic and European football, important areas must be addressed.

The Saudi club Almiron has been linked with has yet to be named, although it seems a foregone conclusion that the player will soon leave the Premier League club.
