Premier League season ticket prices

It has become very expensive to be a football fan.

Whether it’s the rising cost of TV subscriptions or the staggering price of matching shirts, modern football is designed to exploit fans at every opportunity. This is certainly the case when it comes to season ticket price increases, especially in England’s top flight.

Premier League fans are made to pay more for their team’s success, as prices are often higher in the southern parts of the country. For many fans who follow the game, it will be really unaffordable.

As was the case in the 2023/24 season, Premier League clubs in north London boast the most expensive senior season tickets when it comes to the cheapest option offered by each club. Arsenal they lead the way by some margin, with a very low price of an eye-watering £1,073. That works out to around £56 per home game.

Tottenham the biggest laggards at £856 – a 6.1% increase on last year’s figures. The Lilywhites are followed by their west London rivals Chelsea, with fans shelling out a minimum of £810 to attend all 19 home games. They will be hoping to do better than what they saw last season.

Liverpool (£713) and Newcastle United (£662) close the top five, although the former has increased prices by 2.0%. However, two of the division’s most loyal fans were stripped of their wallets.

Given their historical success, one would expect Manchester United boasting the most expensive season ticket, but the cheapest option sits at £579 – offering better value for money than Bournemouth (£633) and Fulham (£619).

Only one club has reduced the price of their senior ticket which is very cheap and that’s it Everton. The 7.5% reduction means fans can attend every Premier League game at Goodison Park for £555. The Crystal Palace (£545) and Wolves (£525) are the only other groups that will not increase their prices from last year.

Southampton (£479) have increased their cheapest season ticket price by 26.4% – more than any other side in the Premier League. That means they are more expensive to watch than champions Manchester Citywho offer a senior season ticket for as little as £425.

But Cityzens is not the same West Ham United, who offer the cheapest season ticket in the category. It may be up 11.3% but it still sits at just £345, which is a staggering £728 cheaper than Arsenal’s cheapest offer.
