All you need to know about Team India’s triumphant display in Mumbai to win the 2024 T20 World Cup

I Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a large victory parade on Wednesday (July 4), in honor Indian team‘s history T20 World Cup 2024 to beat South Africa in Barbados. The show is set to be a momentous celebration, marking a memorable victory for Indian cricket.

Arrival in New Delhi and reception

The Men in Blue, along with support staff, their families, and the media, were stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl, a category four storm that closed Grantley Adams International Airport for three days. Finally, the team left for Delhi on a chartered flight, Air India Champions 24 World Cup (AIC24WC), which took off around 4:50 AM local time and landed in New Delhi around 7:00 AM IST on Wednesday. They were welcomed by hundreds of enthusiastic supporters at Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport, who carried placards, waved the national flag, and bravely welcomed their heroes.

Breakfast with Prime Minister Narendra Modi

After their arrival, the team waved to their fans inside the team bus heading to the ITC Maurya Hotel. Later, they will attend a breakfast hosted by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence at 11:00 AM. PM Modi had spoken to important players like Rohit Sharma again Virat Kohli after the final, and now he will meet them in person to congratulate them on their historic and memorable victory.

Victory parade in Mumbai and celebration details

After breakfast, the Indian team will head to Mumbai for the grand victory ceremony. A parade, which reminds us MS DhoniThe celebration of the 2007 ICC World T20 winning team, will start at 5:00 PM. The route will cover about two kilometers, starting from NCPA, Nariman Point, Marine Drive and ending at Wankhede Stadium. This open-air bus show will allow fans to celebrate along the way.

Skipper Rohit and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced the show on social media platform iX, formerly known as Twitter. Rohit invited fans to join the celebration, saying, “We want to enjoy this special time with all of you. So let’s celebrate this victory with a victory parade at Marine Drive and Wankhede on July 4 from 5 PM onwards. It’s coming home,”

BCCI Secretary Shah wrote, “Join us in the Victory Parade to honor Team India’s victory in the World Cup! Head to Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium on 4th July from 5:00 PM onwards to celebrate with us! Save the date! #TeamIndia #Champions @BCCI @IPL,”

Congratulatory event at Wankhede Stadium

The celebration will end at the Wankhede Stadium with a reception starting at 7:30 PM. BCCI officials will give the Indian team a prize of R125 crore INR, which separates the players, support staff, and national selectors. This grand event will honor the team for ending the 11-year ICC drought. The victory parade and celebrations will be a fitting reminder of Team India’s incredible achievement, allowing fans and players alike to revel in their historic victory.
