Liverpool have placed a price tag of around £20m for the 23-year-old

Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg is set to leave the club this summer.

The 23-year-old defender was on loan at FSV Mainz 05 last season and his performances have been impressive. PSV Eindhoven are now keen to secure his signature and it remains to be seen if they are ready to pay the player’s asking price.

According to a report from Voetbal Primeur, Liverpool are looking for around 20 million Euros for the Dutch defender. Van den Berg is highly rated across Europe and has a bright future. He could develop into a key player for PSV in the coming seasons.

There is no doubt that he has the potential to justify an investment of 20 million euros. The Dutch outfit will likely hope to sign him for a reasonable price and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.

Sepp van den Berg needs to leave Liverpool

Van den Berg has no future at Liverpool and has been out on loan until 2021. He needs to leave the club to play regularly and joining PSV would be good for him. He would get to compete at the highest level and join a club that could always push for trophies.

The player will surely hope that Liverpool accept a suitable offer for him this summer. He will look to end his time at Anfield and get his career back on track with regular football at another club.

Liverpool will not be able to give him enough opportunity to play in the first team this coming season. The Reds have Virgil van Dijk, Iraima Konate, Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah. It makes sense for them to spend money on a player. Selling him for 20 million euros this summer would represent excellent business for the club.
