Seven Americans Reach Second Week of Wimbledon, Most Since 2004

The Americans will fly in the first week at Wimbledon. Seven Americans – four women and three men – advanced to the Round of 16 in singles at the Champions, the most Americans to advance to the second week at Wimbledon since seven also did the trick in 2004.


Here are their next performances at Wimbledon, ranked by seed:

No.2 seed Coco Gauff faces No.19 seed Emma Navarro in the round of 16 on Sunday. No.11 seed Danielle Dollins faces Barbora Krejcikova on Monday.

No.12 seed Madison Keys will face Italy’s Jasmine Paolini on Sunday.

No.12 seed Tommy Paul faces Roberto Bautista Agut on Sunday.

No.13 seed Taylor Fritz faces Alexander Zverev on Monday.

No.14 seed Ben Shelton will face Jannik Sinner on Sunday.

No.19 seed Emma Navarro will face No.2 seed Coco Gauff on Sunday.
