Bayern Munich have announced the signing of Michael Olise

Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace.

The Frenchman has completed three years at Selhurst Park and upped the ante at Bayern after agreeing to meet the £45m release clause in his contract.

Chelsea and Manchester United were among the other clubs interested in signing Olise this summer, but he has now penned a deal with Bayern.

Bayern are busy making changes to their first team in the hope of securing the Bundesliga title after Bayer Leverkusen ended their ten-year hold on the German crown.

They have turned to the Premier League for a marquee name for a third summer run as they have signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool in 2022 and Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.

Olise joins a star-studded list of forward options at the Allianz Arena that includes Kane, Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman.

Bayern have recently appointed Vincent Kompany as their new coach after an extensive search for a replacement for Thomas Tuchel, and will now focus on strengthening elsewhere during the transfer window.

Palace, meanwhile, are facing a battle to land another star player in Eberechi Eze, who is away from England at Euro 2024.

The Eagles finished 10th in the Premier League last season, thanks to the efforts of Olise, Eze and in-form striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, while they looked refreshed and rejuvenated after Oliver Glasner replaced Roy. Hodgson as manager in February.
