John Wall Plans NBA Comeback

John Wall

John Wall says he will do anything to bring back the NBA. Wall, who has played just 74 games since the 2018-19 season, says he’s ready to fill whatever role is needed.

“For me, I’m not giving up on my dreams of returning to the league,” he said on ESPN’s Summer League broadcast on Sunday. I know I’ve been through a lot, with injuries… to still work hard and come here and connect and have teams. Whatever the role is, I am willing to accept it.

“… When it comes to the team and being a vet and teaching the young guys to be vigilant, just to help, that’s the progress I’m willing to make.”

Wall has not played in an NBA game since January 2023, when he became a member of the Clippers. He also missed the entire 2019-20 and 2021-22 seasons.

Another player on the way back is Isaiah Thomas, who also gave an update on ESPN’s Sunday Summer League broadcast.

“I’m a free agent right now. (I’m talking to) a couple of teams trying to figure out what the best opportunity is next,” Thomas told ESPN’s Cassidy Hubbath. “I want to play another year or two. Just keep grinding. Staying patient and ready. Knowing that I can make an impact in the organization even when I’m playing. or not, and make a big impact every day. So I’m waiting for the call.”

Thomas’ most recent NBA award came last season in Phoenix, where he played just 19 minutes in six games.
