Fixture news – Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Australia are locked out of New Zealand’s home summer

Tours of Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Australia have been confirmed for New Zealand’s 2024-25 home season and the previously announced Test-Test series against England in the final stages of the men’s schedule featuring Pakistan likely to move on to IPL.

In total, the men’s team will play six ODIs and eight T20Is during the season while the women’s team will play six ODIs and six T20Is. The Tests against England will be the only one of the summer in New Zealand and will complete nine matches between September and December in which Afghanistan (one), Sri Lanka (two) and India (three) will be played. In the 2025-26 season, New Zealand is scheduled to play only two Tests at home against the West Indies.

Following the England series, the New Zealand boys will face Sri Lanka in T20Is and ODIs from late December to mid-January before heading to Pakistan for an ODI tri-series that serves as a warm-up Champions Trophy scheduled to start on February 19.

After that tournament they will host Pakistan in five T20Is and three ODIs at the end of the season in late March and early April, matches that are likely to match the IPL.

New Zealand Women will host Australia in three ODIs, all to be played at Basin Reserve, just before Christmas and their Trans-Tasman neighbors will return for three T20Is in late March. The Sri Lankan women will follow the visiting men on a six-match tour in March.

Five women’s T20Is (last two against Sri Lanka and three against Australia) will be played as a doubleheader with the men’s T20I series against Pakistan.
