Jaydev Unadkat slams journalist for misquoting his ‘car and flat’ statement at England county cricket match.

India pacer Jaydev Unadkat set to play Sussex County next month, he has continued his England county cricket career after playing a few games for the club last year. Unadkat recently shared his experience of playing regional cricket, highlighting the teams’ rich heritage, passionate fans, and the unique climate that is unique to India. He noted that playing in the UK improves a cricketer’s skills and teaches independence, as players are in control of their daily tasks such as cooking and washing, unlike in India where communications officers handle these tasks.

An argument broke out when the reporter, Himanshu Pareek, he misquoted Unadkat’s comments about the facilities provided to overseas players in England’s regional competition. In a post to X, Pareek incorrectly reported that Unadkat was getting “only a car and an apartment,” ignoring the context of self-confidence and personal growth that Unadkat was emphasizing.

Unadkat criticizes the reporter

Unadkat was quick to address the wrong quote, criticizing Pareek for twisting his words to gain reach and likes on social media. He then clarified the actual statement, pointing out the difference between “only being given a car and an apartment” and being provided with these facilities while managing other things independently. Unadkat urged the students to refer to the original article for accurate context and emphasized that self-confidence is an important lesson learned from playing county cricket.
