ENG vs WI [WATCH]: Gus Atkinson throws a fiery bumper to dismiss Kraigg Brathwaite on day 2 of the Trent Bridge Test

During the midday play, Gus Atkinson he threw in a spectacular throw to dismiss the West Indies captain Craig Brathwaite. The incident happened in the third ball of the 22nd over of the West Indies innings, bowled by Atkinson. The right-arm fast bowler delivered a sharp bouncer towards Brathwaite’s body, catching him unawares. Brathwaite tried to block the delivery but was rushed by the pace. The ball hit the line of the bat and bent towards short leg, where Ollie Pope moved to his right and took a simple catch.

The Battle of the West Indies

West Indies put up an impressive fight in the Trent Bridge Test, thanks to a century partnership between Athanaze and Hodge in the post-lunch session on Day 2. Despite a challenging opening session that saw them lose their top order, the visitors managed to reduce the deficit to 204 seven wickets to go.
