Christopher Nkunku gives an exciting injury update ahead of next season

Christopher Nkunku has revealed that he is working hard to recover from injury and is looking forward to the new season in the Premier League with Chelsea.

Nkunku moved to Stamford Bridge from RB Leipzig last summer – delighting the Bundesliga with his goalscoring ability. His career at Chelsea, however, did not get off to a good start, with the striker making just 14 appearances in the 2023/24 campaign.

Heading into the new season, Nkunku says he is ‘looking forward’ to restarting in the Premier League and is working hard to ensure he can get back in shape.

“I feel better after a tough season last year,” he told the team group website. “I feel better.

“I had a good break during the summer. I needed it. I worked a little bit before coming here [pre-season], but it was important for me to break after this year, with my head again. It was good.

“Now I work in every training session to stay fit and progress in a good way. The pre-season is very good and the team is good. We are training hard to be young and ready to play friendly games.

“The new coach brings great ideas to play. We are all happy to practice with him every training session. Now it’s just the beginning. We have to learn and adjust in every training session the way he wants us to play.

“We are here to learn, if everyone has the mindset that the coach should play, we will produce good football this year. It is also important to have friendly matches, to have many minutes in the body to be fresh at the beginning. of the season, and seeing our fans I’m looking forward to it.

Chelsea’s pre-season friendlies will take place in the United States, while the Blues will play six games during the tour. Their 2024/25 campaign kicks off on August 18 against champions Manchester City.
