Chelsea are working on a deal to sign Victor Osimhen
Chelsea are looking to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli this summer.
The 25-year-old Nigerian international has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past, and it remains to be seen whether the Blues can strike a deal.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Chelsea are currently in talks to sign the striker on loan with an option to buy. The deal will see Romelu Lukaku depart on a permanent deal.
The 31-year-old Belgian has no future at Chelsea and it would be good for him to leave the club permanently. He was on loan at Roma last season and managed to score 21 goals in all competitions. He could be the right player to replace Osimhen at Napoli.
The Nigerian international has proven himself in Serie A and will be looking to try a new challenge at this stage of his career. A move to the Premier League would be good for him. He scored 17 goals and had four assists last season.
It will be interesting to see if Chelsea can do a deal. Negotiating player deals and fees can be difficult.
Chelsea need someone like Osimhen
Chelsea will need to sign a top striker if they are serious about pushing for trophies next season. They had two mediocre campaigns and couldn’t score regularly. Signing a reliable complement can make a big difference for them.
The 25-year-old Napoli striker is regarded as a top scorer, and will look to transform Chelsea’s bottom third. There is no doubt that he has the physical and technical attributes to excel in English football and could be a key player for Chelsea.
In the meantime, Lukaku will look to settle his permanent future and focus on his football.
