Nottingham Forest have learned the outcome of their Premier League points appeal

Nottingham Forest’s four-point lead in the Premier League will remain after they failed in their appeal against a penalty for breaching the Profit & Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Forest were caught in March and avoided a six-point penalty in association with the Premier League for a £34.5m breach of contract. However, they want to complain that they got four points regardless.

But Athletic report that the Independent Commission has rejected their request and they are still facing the prospect of being postponed for the final two weeks of the season.

The outcome of the appeal means Forest are still unbeaten in the Championship, sitting just three points above 18th-placed Luton Town and five ahead of 19th-placed Burnley.
