Rodrygo is not interested in leaving Real Madrid

When Man City come calling they always get their man, however, sometimes having all the money in the world doesn’t guarantee success in the transfer market.

The reigning Premier League champions have a hole in their pockets after the sale of Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid, and with a week to go before the end of the new season, it’s clear that Pep Guardiola’s side are in need of a top-quality replacement.

Such transfers are often hard to come by, especially at a competitive price, but the people at Cityzen clearly knew who they wanted to replace the Argentinian.

Rodrygo turned down Man City

Unfortunately for them, as reported by AS, Real Madrid’s two-time Champions League winner, Rodrygo, is not interested in leaving the Spanish top-flight champions.

At 23, the Brazilian is one of Los Blancos’ latest success stories alongside the likes of Vini Jr. and Jude Bellingham, and with Kylian Mbappe now added to the mix, it’s clear that Rodrygo relishes Madrid’s chances of doing some damage at home and abroad. Europe again next season.

Rodrygo rejected Man City

Given the prospect of a second game at City, it’s no surprise that he refused to go to the Etihad Stadium.

Getting paid well often takes second place to players who just want to be on the field.

Take Alvarez as a perfect example. According to Capology, he was earning £100,000 a week, but that wasn’t enough to keep him at a club that would continue to grow from strength to strength.

Even an attempt to work for Pep Guardiola, arguably the greatest coach of his generation and perhaps the best ever failed to change Rodrygo’s mind.
