Aston Villa are aiming to make two more signings before the transfer window closes

Aston Villa are reportedly eyeing two more signings in the transfer window as they prepare for Champions League football next season.

It’s been a busy summer at Villa Park with seven new faces coming through the door, while two key players from last season have left.

The likes of Amadou Onana and Ian Maatsen joined the club, while Douglas Luiz left Juventus as part of a transfer deal and club record signing Moussa Diaby was sold to Saudi side Al-Ittihad.

Villa are aiming to sign two more

Unai Emery is building an exciting squad at Villa full of young talent and experience and without the money they have spent it looks like the club may not be finished in the window.

The Birmingham Mail reported that Villa are eyeing two more signings in Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix and Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertruida.

Villa are eyeing Felix as a potential replacement for Diaby with the report adding that although no progress has been made on the deal Atletico are aware of Villa’s interest.

Felix’s future at Atletico Madrid is uncertain.

Felix has struggled to develop following his big-money move to Atletico from Benfica and spent time on loan at Chelsea for the 2022/2023 season, while he spent the last campaign on loan at Barcelona.

Emery will back himself to get the best out of the Portugal international and at just 24-years-old there is still plenty of time for Felix to reach his full potential, although the deal could be expensive.

Geertruida came up as a replacement for Diego Carlos, who looks set to leave with Fulham, who have expressed great interest in the defender.

The 24-year-old played a key role for Feyenoord under Liverpool boss Arne Slot and can play at right back and at centre-back.

If Villa can get both of these deals over the line before the end of the window they would put themselves in a good position to have another solid season.
