João Félix of Atletico Madrid has said yes to a return to Chelsea, both clubs are in talks to transfer him to the line.
There was drama at Stamford Bridge in the last 24 hours as the Premier League club’s deal for Samu Omorodon collapsed. This sale is important for the future of both Conor Gallagher and Julian Alvarez, therefore, the La Liga club decided to push Félix to Chelsea.
Talks are currently ongoing between all parties and Fabrizio Romano reports that the Portuguese star has already said yes to a return to Chelsea, but the deal is now in the hands of the West London club.
The striker spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Stamford Bridge and made 20 appearances for the Premier League side, scoring just four goals.
The transfer was unsuccessful, but that didn’t stop the Blues from considering bringing Félix back to London as part of a deal worth around €50 million as they needed to complete the sale of Gallagher.

Félix has been one of the most under-performing players in Europe since moving to Atletico Madrid from Benfica in 2019. The Portuguese star has fallen out of favor with Diego Simeone and has since failed loan spells at Chelsea and Barcelona.
Taking the 24-year-old on loan for another season would be a crazy decision from Chelsea, never mind spending €50 million on the Atleti star.
The London club have been in turmoil since the arrival of new owners in 2022 and it must be very frustrating for fans when their reckless spending resulted in them selling home favorites such as Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher.
Signing Félix will not end well for Chelsea and is an almost guaranteed outcome given the player’s recent history.
