Alright folks, I’ve got a short and sweet one for you this week. I’m busy going back to school, setting up a new room, and learning to teach two new subjects. Instead of regurgitating a lot of statistics that you can check yourself (0r see the screenshots above), I have more of a vibe check on some positional trends.
More places to stay at the Arizona Diamondbacks:
- Go get them all Justin Martinez you can’t. Looks like he’s the guy now. With SVHD, imagine what you want AJ Puk the next one too Kevin Ginkel after that.
Atlanta Braves:
- AJ Minter is back in IL. Bust of a season, sadly. I put him up and brought him down. You know who’s around…the SVHD Savant you’re looking for now Joe Jimenez.
Baltimore Orioles:
- Craig Kimbrel it is a vertical drop. I can’t believe I have to say it. I trusted the process, and he, too, let me down. For now – and it may be for a “short time” – Seranthony Dominguez looks like a favorite to save. I can’t believe I have to say it that or. The high setting is like a permanent boy, though Cionel Perez it’s worth the effort too.
Boston Red Sox:
- The immediate situation is known all over the world. What may not be known to the rest of the world Chris Martin it should be registered to all SVHD formats as it is now safe again.
Chicago Cubs:
- Hector Neris it is the closest. The setup man I want, right now, Porter Hodge. Don’t think I spared much thought to anyone else on the Cubs yet.
Chicago White Sox:
- Go ahead; nothing important to see here.
Cincinnati Reds:
- Emilio Pagan he’s back, and I don’t think it’s insulting to say he can pass Fernando Cruz as Setup Sheriff – Cruz has a WHIP of 1.91 over the past month. The Yowzers.
Cleveland Cavaliers:
- The #1 RP on Player Raters needs no introduction. Hunter Gaddis remains my next favorite, period Kade Smith it is a very close second in this category.
Colorado Rockies:
- Victor Vodnik is your hero of the week. The Rockies save isn’t a glamorous save, however there is a place in the dream, and that dude is widely available (at least in the Fantrax area, which is the only place you’ll find me outside of analyst leagues in the NFBC). I just wrote “Absolutely no one else matters” and then I looked Tyler KinleyLast month: 1 W, 1 SV, 4 HLD, 3.02 FIP, 0.92 WHIP, 15:5 K:BB last month (13 IP). I think you are at least a little bit important.
Detroit Tigers:
- Tigers are hot again right now, so there’s been plenty of SVHD to go. I don’t care anymore. If you are in the SVHD roto league, Tyler Holton it’s okay. That’s the best I can do. His last month: 2 SV, 2 HLD, 1.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP.
Houston Astros:
- Easy order click here. Josh Hader #1, Bryan Abreu #2, take a deep breath, go to the bathroom, make sure there’s nothing on your teeth, and then Ryan Pressly #3.
Kansas City Royals:
- Lucas Erceg suddenly i only Royals RP costs ding dang darn. Hunter Harvey you are injured again James McArthur I can’t do anything worthwhile. Erceg is a borderline must-own in all formats.
Los Angeles Angels:
- As soon as he stole my heart, Ben Joyce almost lost again. The walks are troubling as well (8 BB over his last 12.1 IP). He has 6 SVHD in that span with a nice 2.89 ERA, but the luck is playing a factor given his 4.88 FIP and 1.38 WHIP. It’s trending the wrong way, all of a sudden. It will still hold for now on SVHD. I gave up my one SV-only share on Erceg, though.
Los Angeles Dodgers:
- He said last week it was an uphill battle trying to extinguish this pen. I still feel the same way, pards. Alas for me! I’m strugglin’. I think if you held a sixshooter in my dome, I would say priority Daniel Hudson first again Anthony Banda the second time.
Miami Marlins:
- I don’t know how ballsy you are, though Calvin Faucher it’s still an SV-only Marlin must-have. Andrew Nardi he has 23 K in his last 12 IP, allowing just 8 ER and five homers in that same span.
Milwaukee Brewers:
- Bryan Hudson he’s out of IL, so he’s back to being the replacement you want on the Brew Crew. He knows who to list to save.
Minnesota Twins:
- Same thing here: you want John Duran still for SV though Griffin Jax all over.
New York Mets:
- Reed Garrett he is back from injury. Jose Bhutto continues to release bulk IP numbers. Edwin Diaz had a solid last month though, just not as high as I thought. I still really want Dedniel to come back soon. You missed him a lot.
New York Yankees:
- Clay Holmes is still close to one of the best teams in baseball, but a 1.50 WHIP in his last month isn’t knocking anyone’s boots off. SVHD guy to list now Tommy Kahnleowning a 0.73 ERA and 0.81 WHIP over his last 12.1 IP.
Oakland A’s:
- Mason Miller you are back. Yes! If you are an AL-only SVHD type, Tyler Ferguson should be listed: 20 K and 0.70 WHIP last month.
Philadelphia Phillies:
- Carlos Estevez he’s right next to you, so I guess I’m a ding dang dummy for thinking his SV value alone will be there after he leaves Halos. Jeff Hoffman the SVHD maestro. Deeper leagues can still use it Jose Alvarado I think, but really only the first two seem to matter in most cases.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
- Pfft, more like David Buttnar amirite. Amazing week from that guy: 4 BS+L . He’s a Pittsburgh homeboy and all, but the Bucs are still fighting for a Wild Card spot and can’t let this kind of malarkey continue. Bro has a WHIP of 2.14 in his last month. Aroldis Chapman she cooks again…can you see her stealing a save opp soon? I don’t know. Pure imagination.
San Diego Padres:
- As a bull analyst, I like a simple pen to explain: Robert Suarez for saving, and even one Tanner Scott/Jason Adam by holding. All three are very good at what they do for fantasy purposes.
Seattle Mariners:
- Ahhh, another easy one. You don’t even need to bother naming names, do you? I will mention one word that I forgot: Collin Snider. You have to like the 17:2 K:BB over any number of innings (in this case, we’re talking his last 12.1 IP). Munoz and Garcia are the top dogs, but Snider may have a home in deeper formats.
San Francisco Giants:
- So you may have heard: Camilo Doval was chosen. I have to abandon him. Again, I can’t believe I just wrote those words. I’est la vie. Ryan Walker he’s the one you want in all formats, and of course, still is Tyler Rogers like Plan B. The boring bastard is 6th in baseball with 25 HLDs.
St. Louis Cardinals:
- Andrew Kittredge it has risen to the top of the leaderboard again. That pard leads the Majors with 30 HLD. JoJo Romero is #3 with 28 HLD, just feels like he doesn’t deserve it anymore? Even with a 0.98 WHIP on the year, it still sounds like that??? Post-All-Star-break JoJo is not the same as pre-All-Star-break JoJo.
Tampa Bay Rays:
- You and I both know who you want to save. Catching up is complicated right now…I, for one, still want to Colin Pochebut does Mr Cash still want Poche? Or you want to Manuel Rodríguezwho has 4 HLD and 0.71 WHIP in the last month?
Texas Rangers:
- Wow, another easy one. Yates and DRob. Nuff said.
Toronto Blue Jays:
- Wowwww, another one simple one. Green, and only Green.
Washington Nationals:
- Wwwwwww. It ends in another beach ball: Finnegan’s winnegan. You have reached 30 SV now. I will take L Robert Garcia for being the “dark horse MVP of this ROS pen.” If Finny had been treated, I might be winning by now.
