Gary Neville says only “one player” is coming to Man United
Man United legend Gary Neville has said Bruno Fernandes is the “one player” who turns to the Manchester club every week as the Sky Sports pundit praised the Portuguese star following his contract extension at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils captain signed new terms this week which will see him stay in Manchester until 2027 having joined the Premier League outfit in 2020 from Sporting CP.
Fernandes was a huge success for Man United in all 233 games he played for the Manchester club, scoring 79 goals and assisting another 66.
Following news of his new contract, Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville was full of praise for the United captain ahead of their opener against Fulham.
“There is no doubt that in these three or four years he is the one player who comes every week, who always wants the ball, he always takes the risk of passing to try to take it forward,” said the United defender speaking to Sky. Sports.
“Because he plays in a team that is struggling, it is a difficult position for him, he gets upset and loses control of his teammates.
“I think he is maturing as a captain and there is no doubt that he is the only signing in the last ten years who has been a real success.”
