Phil Foden named PFA Players’ Player of the Year for the 2023/24 season

Manchester City striker Phil Foden has been named the PFA Players’ Player of the Year for the 2023/24 season.

The Englishman has enjoyed a fine campaign which has seen him score 19 goals and eight assists in 35 games for Pep Guardiola’s title winners.

Foden was named Premier League Player of the Season earlier this summer and has now added the PFA Player of the Year trophy to his ever-growing cabinet.

“Winning this award is something very special and something I’m proud of and grateful for,” said Foden. “To be recognized in this way by your professional colleagues means everything and I would like to thank everyone who voted for me.

“I also want to say a special thank you to Pep, the City coaches and all my teammates as they help me try to get better every day.

“I’d also like to congratulate Kyle [Walker]Rodrigo and Erling [Haaland] in voting for the PFA Team of the Year as it is great to see their incredible quality recognized in this way.

“Last season was a very special one for everyone at the Club but we are now focused on trying to achieve even more success this season.”

Elsewhere, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer was named PFA Young Player of the Year, while stars from Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Aston Villa all earned places in the Team of the Year.
