Gascoigne urges Rashford to start enjoying his football again
Former England midfielder Paul Gascoigne has urged Marcus Rashford to start enjoying his football again.
The 26-year-old has struggled at Manchester United, conceding just seven goals last season and finishing eighth in the Premier League with the Red Devils.
This meant he missed out on a place in England’s Euro 2024 squad, despite being Gareth Southgate’s favorite over the years.
Rashford has been linked with a shock exit from Old Trafford but has kept his faith in manager Erik ten Hag.
And former Premier League legend Gascoigne has had his say on the situation.
Speaking to GOAL he said: “Marcus Rashford, I am disappointed that he was not selected for the Euros because I love Rashford.
“The thing about Rashford is, you have to smile a little, hell! Buy her something that will make her smile. He just doesn’t seem to enjoy it.

“He plays for Manchester United and with the money he earns he lives a luxurious life there and he must enjoy it.
“I didn’t like that other players scored a goal unannounced because you have to be careful – the boyfriend is going to take his three sons to the game, said Wembley, it costs them a lot of money to get there, money. eating, watching the game and these players just leave without enjoying it anymore – if it wasn’t for the fans coming to see me play, I wouldn’t have been able to afford the holidays I had, or nice cars and jewelry.
“I’m like a gladiator, entertaining the fans and that’s what I think I’ve done.”
Rashford must sharpen himself up if he wants to keep his place in Manchester United’s starting XI.
Despite starting in the 1-0 win over Fulham on the opening night, he still faces competition from Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho.
The Red Devils travel to Brighton on Saturday as they look to make it 6/6 to start the 2024-25 campaign.
