TaylorMade drops the new women’s Kalea Gold Premium Line

The brand new Kalea Gold line for women has been introduced by TaylorMade Golf Company, a pioneer of technology and innovation in the world of golf equipment.

It builds on the iconic design of the Kalea Premier, and TaylorMade promises that every Kalea Gold accessory is designed with premium components and proven technology to help women of all abilities play better golf.

The goal is to elevate the experience of female golfers from tee to green.

“We decided to name this line Kalea Gold because we wanted to set the gold standard with our second women’s line,” said Michelle Penney, Principal Engineer, Product Development.

“We are building on Kalea Premier’s momentum to create a product line that excels in design, technology, and performance. The most important part of this product’s DNA is that it is designed by women, for women. Kalea Gold represents a new and innovative way of thinking about women’s golf club structure.”

Engineers and designers have identified the important role that women will play in the design process.

Different opinions

They asked four different groups of female golfers to submit their opinions.

The first of those was the TaylorMade Women’s Advisory Board.

The group is made up of female golf industry professionals located across Europe representing specific areas: teaching, club fitting and the women’s golf tour. These women were able to provide the TaylorMade teams with expert feedback on what they and their female customers liked and disliked about the designs and the line as a whole.

The second club they joined was the TaylorMade Women’s Golf and Social Club which includes employees. They were able to provide real-time, live feedback on everything from the colors incorporated into the design to the grip of each club.

Data-driven evaluation panels/women’s opinion and online reviews from Kalea Premier were the final two groups that helped guide the vision of what Kalea Gold would ultimately become.

TaylorMade’s engineers and product creation teams have found that two important things rise to the top: aesthetics and performance.

Feminists are strongly advocating for the removal of the soft, pastel colors often found in women’s clubs. They showed a preference for traditional beautiful colors such as white, blue and gold found in Kalea Gold.

From a performance standpoint in testing, women find the Kalea Gold clubs to be lightweight, forgiving, and perform very well.

Through this process, the TaylorMade teams gained a deeper understanding of who the Kalea Gold consumer really is. While some women bought Kalea Gold as their first set of clubs, the majority made the switch to the Kalea Gold line for their second or third set of new equipment.

It quickly became clear that Kalea Gold showed tangible benefits for women of all abilities.
