Evans, who has been at Shrigley Hall for six years and has been in the conservation industry for 15 years, emphasizes the importance of using high-quality materials to maintain academic standards. “It’s a hotel and resort area, covering 260 hectares with lots of woods around,” he explains. “It’s a very busy course, and our membership is thriving.”
Evans has worked with Mansfield Sand for six years, mainly using their MM35 Golf to dress the greens.
“We started using the MM35 Golf because we had problems getting our previous sand product,” notes Evans. “We use it to dress green vegetables and we probably exceed 60 tons a year. Our approach is small and often to keep it high and quality. “

In addition to MM35 Golf, Shrigley Hall also uses Mansfield Sand compost for the divots. “We buy this once a year, and it’s a really good product. It’s a 60.40 mix, perfect for divots, filling holes around tees, and any type of construction work we do,” added Evans.
