Heading into the BMW Championship, Adam Scott needed a strong finish to move from 41st in the FedEx Cup points standings into the top 30.
By the middle part of the tournament, Scott had risen to the top – and then some. Thanks to opening rounds of 68-63, Scott currently enjoys a three-point lead over his nearest rival, Keegan Bradley.
A win would push Scott to fourth in the points standings behind Hideki Matsuyama (third), Xander Schauffele (second) and Scottie Scheffler (first). The winner of next week’s Tour Championship gets $25 million. Profitable (and exciting) times ahead, indeed!
Scott will play in Saturday’s final pairing with Bradley at 11:35 a.m. ET. You can watch the third round of Saturday’s BMW Championship on ESPN+ with special early action and group coverage starting at 9 am ET, and on Golf Channel starting at 1 pm ET followed by NBC at 3 pm ET. Peacock will provide Golf Channel simulcasts and NBC’s Saturday TV coverage.
