DPL 2024 [WATCH]: Priyansh Arya recreates Yuvraj Singh’s 6 sixes in an over

I Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2024 saw an unforgettable spectacle as Priyansh Arya made history in the game in between South Delhi Superstarz again North Delhi Strikers smashing six in one over. Facing the bowler Manan BharwajArya showed devastating power, collecting 36 runs in just six balls.

The onslaught begins: Priyansh Arya hits 6 sixes in 0over

Arya’s outburst started with a long shot as she confidently descended. The second delivery saw Arya fire a left-handed delivery, getting down on one knee to let the ball travel and fall to deep mid-wicket. The third ball met the same fate, it went over long, and by this time, the crowd was on its feet, knowing full well that something special was about to happen. Arya continued her onslaught, smashing the fourth ball out of the park, and the last two games met the same fate. With this, Arya made his name in the history of cricket, becoming only the third Indian to hit six sixes in an over, joining the elite group. Ravi Shastri again Yuvraj Singh.

A century in style: Arya’s partnership with Ayush Badoni

Arya’s feat didn’t stop at breaking her own record. He continued his innings with relentless ferocity, completing his century in style and dismantling the opposition’s bowling attack. His efforts were aided by the South Delhi captain, Ayush Badoniwho also showed his power hitting skills by reaching his century in just 39 balls. Together, they turned the game into a spectacle of batting excellence, with four sixes from both sides of the field.

South Delhi Superstarz has set a big target

South Delhi posted a good total of 308/5 in 20 overs against North Delhi. Arya played a magnificent innings, scoring 120 off just 50 balls, including 10 fours and 10 sixes, at a strike rate of 240.00. Ayush Badoni also played a major role by smashing 165 off 55 balls, making the team a huge score. The team lost their first wicket early, with Sarthak Ray departs after scoring only 11 runs. However, the middle order ensured that the momentum continued, leaving North Delhi in a daunting chase.

North Delhi Strikers are facing an uphill battle

The North Delhi bowlers struggled to contain the onslaught of the South Delhi Superstarz. Siddhartha Solanki again Pranshu Vijayran they were the only bowlers who managed to take wickets, with Solanki taking 3/52 and Vijayran taking 2/39. Despite their efforts, some of the bowling attack proved ineffective, conceding runs at an alarming rate. Suyash Sharma again Aman Bharti-I were more expensive, with economy rates of 16.50 and 12.25, respectively. Now, the Strikers need 309 runs from their 20 overs, a huge task if they are to stay in the game.
