Lunch Pakistan 274 and 117 for 6 (Rizwan 38*, Rana 3-22, Mahmud 2-22) lead Bangladesh 262 (Litton 138, Mehidy 78, Shahzad 6-90, Salman 2-13) by 129 runs

Bangladesh cruised to a 2-0 victory after dismissing Pakistan for four at breakfast on the fourth day of the second Test in Rawalpindi.

Resuming from 9 to 2 am, it was going to turn into a good morning for both hosts Saim Ayub and Shan Masood looking optimistic. There was a partial appeal from Hasan Mahmud’s first ball of the day but the runs flowed for the next 45 minutes or so. Masood started by hitting Taskin Ahmed down the ground for three runs before Ayub clipped the pace bowler well on his pads.

There were a few slips and misses, as well as strong leaves, but the duo looked untroubled as they collected 34 runs in the first 6.2 overs of the day. But then came a loose drive from Ayub and Bangladesh came running.

Taskin got the ball to float full outside the off stump which enticed Ayub to hit badly. He took the bait and went for a high drive only to find Najmul Hossain Shanto at mid off, who took a lovely catch down the left. Babar Azam started with a square cut to Taskin but he was far behind. He missed a direct delivery from Mehidy Hasan Miraz and was hit on the pads as Bangladesh reviewed, but replays suggested the ball had rounded leg stump.
