Tottenham striker being assessed by Man Utd ahead of transfer

Manchester United have raised the release clause of Tottenham striker Celin Bizet as they wave goodbye to a move north before the summer transfer window closes.

The 22-year-old played a major role for Spurs last season, helping them make history by reaching the FA Cup final against the Red Devils in May.

Both clubs hope to complete a deal before United fly to Marbella for their pre-season camp next week, according to BBC Sport. It is understood Bizet has been on trial at United after the club splashed out around £600,000 to trigger his release clause.

Bizet moved from Paris Saint-Germain to the Lilywhites ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. He started his youth career at hometown club Skedsmo before making his debut in Norway’s third division at the age of 14.

Bizet went on to feature at all youth levels for Norway and marked her debut at the age of 19 with a goal during a FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier against Armenia in Yerevan.

Tottenham did a lot last season under head coach Robert Vilahamn and may feel the loss of Bizet. However, the arrival of Australian player Hayley Raso at the weekend may soften the blow.

Bizet is still young and has a bright future ahead of him, something that would have attracted him to United in the first place. Despite being at the center of controversy this summer, the club announced a series of exciting signings, including Simi Awujo, Dominique Janssen, Melvine Malard, Anna Sandberg and Elisabeth Terland.

Manager Marc Skinner will be hoping that United’s new signings can help them improve on their impressive league performance last season which saw the club finish fifth.
