Mark Cuban Says He Helped Fund RFK Jr.’s Legal Fight Running for President

Dallas Mavericks minor league owner Mark Cuban said he helped independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to vote in North Carolina by donating to the Center for Competitive Democracy, an organization that works to strengthen American democracy by increasing competition in elections.

“You know who helped pay for the lawsuit that got RFK Jr. and Cornel West on the NC Ballot? Me. I’m helping support Voter Choice,” Cuban wrote on X last Monday.

“I’m not a fan of the two-party system and Voter Choice helps in finding candidates. And we’re good at it. His NC organization came to us for help. We have helped. There is no cost to them. So I’m not sad that he can’t vote.”

In addition, the Center for Competitive Democracy confirmed in a statement that Cuban is in fact a donor. The non-partisan organization represented Kennedy Jr.’s We The People Party in court rulings that ended in its favor.

It was decided that they should be included in the voting list in North Carolina. Cuban’s recent comments confused a few X users.

Additionally, Republicans still question why Kennedy Jr. lacked the support of the Democratic Party and was forced to run for the third party.

Kennedy Jr. dropped out of the presidential race on Aug. 23 and endorsed Republican nominee Donald Trump. A week later, he filed a lawsuit after the North Carolina State Board of Elections refused to remove him from the ballot.

Cuban was responding to a post about the recent Kennedy Jr. case.

In addition, he commented on other vacancies, saying that Kennedy Jr. he should have “got out early” if he wanted to not go to the polls. It should be noted that Kennedy Jr. he stepped down a week after winning a case in North Carolina to get his name on the ballot.

The Center for Competitive Democracy helps support political choices outside of the two-party system.

In another response, Mark Cuban wrote, “I don’t give money to PACs or Candidates or groups. I give money to organizations that help candidates to compete with the two major parties. I’ve been doing it for years.”

According to the Associated Press, Trump said he would be open to giving Kennedy Jr. role in his administration if he wins the election in November against Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.
