Things Have Quieted Down in Boston Surrounding Jeremy Swayman
One of the biggest free agents left on the market is Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman.
Over the past two seasons, but especially last year, it was clear that Swayman was Boston’s number one player, especially in the playoffs. After some troubled negotiations last year, Swayman made business this offseason.

Both parties did not apply for arbitration. There was a growing sense of optimism regarding the Bruins netminder’s new contract extension. However, that does not seem to be the case now.
Dave Pagnotta joined Sirius XM NHL Network Radio with Boomer Gordon and Jake Hahn and was asked about the ongoing talks between the Boston Bruins and Jeremy Swayman and where things stand.

Boomer Gordon: “I don’t know where you’re going from there, and that leaves only one. RFA, and I know you haven’t written about it yet, but do you have any thoughts on where Boston is going with Swayman?”
Dave Pagnotta: “Yeah, you know? About a week ago, about a week ago, both sides seemed comfortable, or at least that was the message they were conveying, that, yes, they would be able to do something, and that there was no panic. either side at the moment. I don’t quite get that idea.
You know, things seem to have changed. Obviously, there was a report, by Ryan Whitney suggesting that, you know, a four, six and a quarter year extension one day. I don’t, I couldn’t confirm that. I don’t doubt him at all. But I’d imagine if you’re Swayman, you’re nowhere near that kind of deal. Looking at 8 plus in AAV. And maybe that slows it down a bit.
