Jose Mourinho reveals one thing he doesn’t like about Victor Osimhen

The manager of Fenerbahce, Jose Mourinho, revealed that he does not like the player wanted by Chelsea, Victor Osimhen.

The transfer saga surrounding Osimhen has been one of the headlines of the summer with Chelsea and Saudi club Al-Ahli both pushing hard to sign the Nigeria international.

The 25-year-old looked set for a move to Saudi Arabia after Al-Ahli reached an agreement with Napoli but Osimhen did not sign on the move, while Chelsea tried until the final hours of the window.

Chelsea are reported to have made six or seven different offers on personal terms for Osimhen who made it clear he was not willing to drop his wage demands.

Former Blue John Obi Mikel, who was involved in trying to get Osimhen to come to Chelsea revealed that the deal was very close, but there were small details that were not fixed.

Osimhen remained at Napoli, but eventually moved to Turkish giants Galatasaray and could make his debut this weekend.

Mourinho, who also moved to Turkey earlier this summer, has experience of dealing with Osimhen during his time as Roma manager and will again be tasked with trying to stop the striker when Galatasaray face Fenerbahce next month.

Mourinho’s Fenerbahce will face Osimhen next month.

The former Chelsea manager admitted that Osimhen is a brilliant player, but revealed that there is one thing he does not like about the striker.

“I have no problem with Victor,” he told HT Spor.

“Actually, we have a very good relationship.

“But every time I play with him I talk to him because I don’t like the way he behaves, he dives a lot. The last time we played, Roma against Napoli, we had this conversation.

“I told him, ‘Look, you are one of the two best players in Africa – you are the one [Mohamed] Salah. In the past Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto’o, George Weah, you cannot behave like this.’

“He dives too much, that’s my problem with him. But after ten minutes, we are ready. We have a very good relationship.

“In the Turkish league it’s fun and in Galatasaray it’s fun.”

Osimhen’s loan has a break clause in January and his release clause is now €75 million so it will be interesting to see if any clubs try to sign him in the next few months.
