Jamie Redknapp praised Jadon Sancho following his impactful debut for Chelsea against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Sancho’s last-minute loan move to Stamford Bridge from Manchester United was arguably one of the most unexpected moves of the summer transfer window given how many wingers Chelsea already have.
However, the Englishman is already settling into his new home.
Sancho came off the bench at half-time at the Vitality Stadium and went on to create two chances and complete two goals, eventually providing the winner for Christopher Nkunku in the 86th minute.
The 24-year-old made light of a difficult meeting that produced a record 14 yellow cards in the Premier League.

Chelsea fans have started to sign Sancho’s name following his impact at Bournemouth.
And Redknapp believes the striker could prove many wrong and turn his loan move to Chelsea into a ‘career-changing’ move.
“Confidence is important in football. “When you feel confident, you are a much better player,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“When this change happened, I thought it was one of the strangest things I’ve seen in years. Chelsea in particular is full of wide players – Madueke, Nkunku, Neto, players who can play in a wide area. So you think: how will you get a game in this Chelsea team?
“Chelsea feels it is better financially to join the club. He has come in and he has obviously trained well as he took Pedro Neto off at half-time, unless there was an injury, he came in and looked sharp. There was good chemistry with Cucurella, which sometimes comes naturally in training. And he seems to be enjoying his football.
“Let’s be completely honest: at Manchester United he was really poor. He went to Borussia Dortmund and looked good in the Champions League. He’s done some good things, he’s got his confidence back, his shoulders are back and he’s enjoying his football again.
“This could be a turning point for him, this could put his career back on track. He is a very talented player.
“Time waits for no one in football, before you know it your career is over. You get to 25, 26 and you think: ‘What am I doing now? I haven’t set the standards that I should.’
“Are you training well? Are you doing well? These are the questions made against Jadon. What you cannot doubt is his skill and ability. So I really hope it works for him.”
