Newcastle could soon announce a blockbuster announcement for Alexander Isak

Newcastle’s negotiations over a new contract for Alexander Isak are progressing well and will be no different to other contract extensions.

There were rumors last week that Isak asked for a release clause to be removed from his contract, but the Toon people believe that negotiations with Isak are progressing in the same way as everyone else.

When asked about Isak’s importance to United, amid reports of a new deal, Howe said this week: “He’s one of (Newcastle’s most important players), for sure.

“I don’t think there is only one, I think there is always a very important team in the team and if they play well, the team plays better. Alex is definitely one of those players, he has all the qualities we need. But in the end we have to find him at a high level because when he is there, he is a person who changes.”

After two disappointing transfer windows, Newcastle managers are hoping to extend Isak’s contract to make a statement and show the desire of the rest of the Premier League.
