Golf Business News – Solheim Cup baton passes to Bernadus

Following the conclusion of the 2024 Solheim Cup in Virginia, the 2026 host site, Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands, is now being considered for the 20th edition of the event from September 7-13.

Located an hour from Amsterdam’s Schiphol train station and Amsterdam Central train station, Bernardus Golf’s championship golf course was designed by Kyle Phillips and has a proven tournament pedigree, having hosted three KLM Dutch Open events on the DP World Tour from 2021-2023.

As one of the premier events in women’s sports, spectators can look forward to a unique experience where sports, entertainment, and hospitality come together seamlessly at the highest level.

Robert van der Wallen, owner of Bernardus commented: “Now that the date has been set, we are busy with our preparations to welcome this great event to Bernardus for the 20th edition in 2026. We were excited to enjoy our first US Solheim Cup. this week at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club and our team will take all the experience we have gained there, as well as our visit to Finca Cortesin in 2023, to ensure that we deliver what we aim to be the best European program to date. “

The 20th edition of the games will be the first edition run in collaboration with IMG, which has been appointed by the LET as a delivery partner for the European Solheim Cup for the first commitment from 2026 until the end of 2038.

IMG’s appointment follows the successful launch of the 2019 Solheim Cup in partnership with Visit Scotland which saw over 90,000 spectators attend the match at Gleneagles and millions watching the broadcast worldwide.

Together, NGF, Bernardus, LET and IMG aim to deliver a world-class Solheim Cup in 2026 that sets the standard for women’s sporting events, leaving a long-term positive legacy for Bernardus, Dutch golf, the Netherlands and the local community.
