Amad Diallo will be offered a new long-term deal

Man United have shown glimpses of the squad they can face against Southampton at the weekend, easing the pressure on under-fire manager Erik ten Hag.

The Holland player had seen his boys struggle in the first few games, which made the knives sharpen after just three games.

A poor opening day victory over Fulham did not win the Red Devils, and neither did Brighton and Hove Albion and Liverpool.

Man United will offer the 22-year-old a new long-term deal

Against their fierce local rivals, they were played away from Old Trafford, so a win at St. Mary’s would be a great relief to all.

One player who saw more action than he expected in those opening games was Amad Diallo.

The 22-year-old has started many of United’s games this season, leaving the expensive Antony to continue on the bench.

Perhaps it is his pre-season form, which he has put in in the Premier League, that has been enough to convince the Ten Hag to recommend to the board that the player be offered a new long-term contract.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the club are hoping to tie Amad down to a new long-term deal in the coming months, but if they can’t agree something in the new year, they will at least exercise the option. for the players, the current contract will be extended to prevent vultures from circling.

This will then give the club the right time to work out the details of any new deal.

Amad sounds completely happy at the club, so the new deal will be a welcome one for him and his representatives.

Given that he is emerging as a vital cog in the wheel at Old Trafford, this will only cement his place at the club.
