Oilers Continue to Be Flexible Front Office
The Oilers made some big changes this offseason, especially with their front office. General manager (GM) Ken Holland, despite taking his team to Game 7 of the 2024 Stanley Cup Final, was replaced in the summer by former Chicago Blackhawks manager Stan Bowman. Now, the AGM is out of the organization, too.
The Oilers were busy last season, acquiring top players like Jeff Skinner and Viktor Arvidsson in free agency. Bringing back almost their entire 2023-24 roster aside, in particular, forward Dylan Holloway and defenseman Philip Broberg (lost via the St. Louis Blues’ offer sheet), Edmonton is ready to compete.
With a new-look front office and a more polished program for 2024-25, can they return to the playoffs? Can they get revenge on last season’s club and go all the way?
