Jamison Coyle: “I still have some very notable RFAs yet to be signed. Let’s start with Boston’s biggest right now, their goalie, Jeremy Swayman. What’s the latest there?
Pagnotta: “Well, they still talk regularly. There certainly seemed to be a big gap in terms of dollars. I don’t know though, I think they did a little bit, at least in understanding the outline of where this is going to end up.

But much still depends on time. The more time he gets, the higher the AAV will be.
They moved Linus Ullmark to Ottawa at the end of June because they thought, not only did they want to use that contract, but they also wanted to make sure they locked him in. Swayman, you’re locked inside. You want a competitive price.
Most of these guys, all RFAs, want a competitive price. If we look at the board right there, you see some of the top-level goaltenders in the National Hockey League, and what you’re looking at, dollar-wise, you want to be Hellebuyck-type up. You want to wake up well, more than that.
So, you know, he got into the nines-plus. They entered six. And you still have to find a way to bridge that. They have to get there. There is still work to be done in many different areas of RFAs.

But in terms of Boston camp and Jeremy Swayman, I think you’re taking a bit of positivity knowing that the lines of communication are still open. But, the camps continue this week.
