Dyche is not concerned about the backlash from fans as the Toffees chase a first Premier League win

Sean Dyche says he is not worried about whether he has the support of Everton fans.

Dyche is under increasing pressure at Goodison Park after losing all four Premier League games this season and conceding two goals in the last two against Bournemouth and Aston Villa.

On Saturday they head to newly promoted Leicester, also winless, in desperate need of a win to move themselves off the foot of the table.

The Toffees boss says pleasing the fans is not at the top of his mind and is focused on trying to turn things around at the club.

Speaking at a press conference before the game, he said: “It’s never been something I’ve thought about. I respect the fans, I make that very clear, the way they supported me, the team and the team many years before my time.

“What I’m doing is working very hard to bring the team together to win games. The idea of ​​being a hero goes from zero to being a hero, it comes and goes very quickly.

“I try not to focus on what’s in front of me and that’s the reality of what we’re trying to achieve here.”

“We have been making sure [the players] reasons and why we had a good record here last season, with clean sheets and keeping games tight.”

Saturday’s opponents are also looking for their first win under Steve Cooper after two defeats and two draws so far but Dyche says he will not underestimate the Foxes just because they are a newly promoted side.

He continued: “Just because they were recently promoted does not mean that they are not a quality outfit. They have good players, we have to go there with the right mindset.

“We have to remember that we can score goals but obviously we have to do better with the defensive players and find that balance.”

Dyche is hoping to welcome back a number of players for the clash, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Vitaliy Mykolenko set to feature after illness, while James Tarkowski could also be available.

The 53-year-old also gave a positive update on defender Jarrad Branthwaite, who is set to feature in the Under-21s this week as he recovers from an injury that has kept him out until now.

On Branthwaite, 22, Dyche said: “It encourages us when he goes through it, that’s the main thing. I don’t like to talk about players and injuries because you never know.

“If he arrives at this time when he is fit and ready, that makes him happy because he is a top player.”
