Umpire Richard Kettleborough raised his finger, declaring Kohli out after a brief discussion with him Shubman Gill. Despite the obvious uncertainty surrounding the call, Kohli opted against the review after discussing it with his teammate.

However, replays revealed a critical detail: The Ultra Edge showed a slight rise, suggesting the ball was brushing Kohli’s belt before hitting his pads. The controversy escalated as fans expressed their displeasure over the decision, believing that Kohli was unfairly dismissed. Kohli’s innings came to an end on 17 runs off 37 balls, including two boundaries. His exit sparked many discussions on social media, many expressed their displeasure and called this decision a big mistake by officials.
