The San Antonio Spurs have officially signed free agent guard Jameer Nelson Jr., as reported by Paul Garcia of The Spot Up Shot, citing the team’s updated roster.
Although the specifics of the contract are unclear, it is likely to be an unconfirmed Exhibit 10 agreement. This type of contract could be turned into a two-way deal before the regular season begins (San Antonio currently has one cap space available two ways).
Alternatively, if Nelson is waived, he can still earn a bonus of up to $77,500, as long as he spends at least 60 days with the Spurs’ G League affiliate, the Austin Spurs.
