IceHogs, Bruins to host NHLCA guest coaches this preseason | TheAHL.com

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that, in partnership with the National Hockey League Coaches’ Association (NHLCA), Rockford IceHogs again The Providence Bruins will participate in NHLCA Visitor Coach Program this preseason.

The NHLCA began a guest coaching campaign in 2022, selecting members of the BIPOC Coaches Program and the Women’s Coaches Program to participate in NHL team development camps for the purposes of networking, professional development and visibility. The NHLCA and American Hockey League have extended this opportunity to AHL clubs for their 2024 preseason camps.

The Rockford coaching staff will be joining Amy Brolsma again Chi-Yin Tse. Brolsma is a skating coach in Wisconsin and Minnesota who in 2021 became the first female coach to work in the United States Hockey League; Tse is the general manager of Tulsa Jr. Oilers is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Carnegie Initiative. Matt Pinchevskyhead men’s ice hockey coach at the University of Southern Maine, will work with the Providence coaches.

Operating since 1936, the American Hockey League serves as the premier league for the development of players, coaches, managers, administrators, broadcasters and personnel for all 32 National Hockey League teams. About 90 percent of today’s NHL players graduated from the American Hockey League, and more than 100 members of the Hockey Hall of Fame spent time in the AHL during their careers.
