Best Reaction to Knicks Acquiring Karl-Anthony Towns

Well it has been a long time coming but it finally happened. The Knicks acquired Karl-Anthony Towns.

Shams left news:

“The Knicks will send the Minnesota Timberwolves a package featuring forward Julius Randle, guard Donte DiVincenzo and a future first-round pick.

“… Knicks are sending salary β€” including DaQuan Jeffries β€” and writing compensation to Charlotte in a Karl-Anthony Towns/Julius Randle deal, sources tell me and @JonKrawczynski.”

Sure, NBA Twitter is crazy. Some excellent reactions below:

The 28-year-old Towns has spent his entire nine-year career with the Timberwolves since being drafted by Minnesota as the No. 1 in the 2015 NBA Draft.

He averaged 21.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game in 2023-24, after missing most of the 2022-23 season with a knee injury.

“After winning 50 games last season, the most in a decade, the Knicks have made drastic moves to improve a roster built around 28-year-old Jalen Brunson. Beyond the Cities, the team acquired winger Mikal Bridges in an early summer trade with the Brooklyn Nets and re-signed forward OG Anunoby,” said Shams.
