“I think in the long term, as we played with guys like Ashwin and Jadeja, those two seemed to be the ones we always faced and the battles we had with them often dictated the outcome of the game,” Maxwell said when speaking on Star Sports.

“If we play well with these two (Ashwin, Jadeja), we usually find ourselves in a better position compared to when they had a field day and ran at us. These two guys have been around for most of my career, I’m the same age,” he added.

Maxwell picks the bowler in the best format

Maxwell also exclaimed Jasprit Bumrah as the best bowler in all formats of the game. Recalling his first meeting with Bumrah during the IPL in 2013, he spoke about how Bumrah transformed from a rookie to a renowned pacer.

This recognition underscores Bumrah’s incredible journey and impact on the game, as he continues to be a valuable asset to the Indian cricket team.

“And, recently, Jasprit Bumrah. I was there in his first year of IPL in 2013 in Mumbai and I faced him a lot every day in the nets. To see him grow from a young, untapped talent to what he is now, the best bowler in all three disciplines, is an amazing story,” Maxwell added.
